Looks like the boys coming back to the UK for the latest leg of his journey

Such a waste.

Re: Ravel Morrison
Kevin Nolan & Ginger Pele both said that he was the most naturally talented footballer they had ever worked with.

Nolan tells a story where after one game Ravel had played really well and they were on the coach travelling back and Nolan & Mark Noble were both telling him how great he was and if he knuckled down and focused on football then there was nothing stopping him becoming one of the best players in the world.

He didn’t bother turning up for training the next day.

Re: Ravel Morrison
Comma,

That’s only partially true. Morrison was surrounded by some great people who absolutely had his best interests at heart - especially at Man Utd and West Ham - but, in his private life, was also around a bunch of wannabe gangsters and wasters.

In all fairness to Man Utd, they threw everything at trying to maximise his talent - and bent over backwards to help him. Repeatedly. So did Allardyce (although his approach was bit more “tough love”).

Two major football clubs invested a huge amount of time, energy, effort and resources in Ravel Morrison as a youngster. Multiple chances other kids/youngsters don’t get. And he wasted much of it. There comes a point when you have to say his failure to push on was on him, however complex his life.

I spoke to a guy who worked at Man Utd TV (for his sins) and still has a lot of contacts at Man Utd. He said he’d never seen a player stand and admire his own passes as much as Morrison. When you strip away everything else (including his complex family/friends) he just didn’t work hard enough to get to the level his promise threatened.

It’s harsh, and ruthless, but that’s modern football.

Re: Ravel Morrison
Morrison was surrounded by people who did not have his long term interests at heart. Had Morrison been born into a family like that of Jude Bellingham perhaps he might now be an established mid fielder in a top EPL team.

There is so much more to a player’s game than simply turning up to train and having an abundance of natural talent.

If it wasn’t for football he would already be behind bars I would imagine.

Brum midfielder Ryan Woods( the ginger Pirlo) took great delight in winding up Morrison from time to time, and poor old Ravel's game went to pieces in the end.

Re: Ravel Morrison
Spent most of the game on the wing sulking, he did however have a couple of good passes but then went back to type

You wouldn't want to fight in the trenches with him alongside you !

He's a loser. Was on the losing side tonight and was part of the Jamaica team who got smashed by Panama. He had 1 good game for us and I will always remember his goal fondly but seems like a cunt

Re: Ravel Morrison
Although it's annoying seeing someone with talent waste it, by the same token, you have to be pleased if they stop wasting it - even if it is very, very late.

Of course, this might be the nth flash in the pan.

No doubt there’s been issues over the years but he seem to be holding it together, he’s playing regularly for derby. Good luck to the lad.
